Born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, I discovered at an early age that I had some artistic talent. As a youngster I would duplicate the Garfield comics out of the newspaper each day. I guess you can say I owe a lot of my love of drawing to Jim Davis (Garfield creator) and a certain lasagna loving cat. As I grew a little bit older, I began to attempt drawing more photo realistic pictures. I first attempted to draw a portrait when I was 17 years old. The results were not as bad as I feared they were going to be, so I kept going! I often get asked if I have taken any art classes. The answer to that is no, I am completely self taught…and still learning new things every day. Some of the pencil artists that I have studied and whos works I greatly admire are Brian Duey, Pat McMichael, JD Hillberry, Shelby Brannin and Jack Wells. I currently live in Centennial, Colorado. Growing up and living in this part of the country has definitely contributed to the “Western" influence that many of my drawings and portraits have. My love of drawing goes hand and hand with my love of music. If there is any way for me to have music around me, I will. I always have music going while I am drawing. My music interests are varied, with some of my favorites being Chris LeDoux, George Strait, Jimmy Buffett, Foo Fighters, Brad Paisley, The Killers, Harry Connick Jr. & Aaron Watson.
When I am not drawing (or working my day job), I enjoy taking part in some favorite hobbies of mine, which include, going to baseball games, concerts, playing basketball (Rock Chalk Jayhawk) and golf.
